Role overview
This full-time on-site position is for a multi-skilled security professional based in St Helens, Tasmania, Australia. The work follows a rotating pattern: Week 1 is 4 days on and 3 days off, and Week 2 is 3 days on and 4 days off.
In this role, you will help protect customers, retailers, and staff while also taking on cleaning duties and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the site. The job combines security, CCTV monitoring, cleaning, and general site support, so a hands-on attitude is essential.
Key duties
- Carry out regular site patrols to support safety, security, and cleanliness.
- Provide guidance and help to retailers whenever needed.
- Complete daily cleaning duties, including operating cleaning equipment and machinery.
- Monitor CCTV footage as part of the security function.
- Make sure all assigned tasks are finished within the required deadlines.
Health and safety responsibilities
- Keep communication open with colleagues, both formally and informally, so safety concerns and ideas are shared effectively and team morale stays strong.
- Help maintain OCS’s positive safety standards through your own behaviour and by encouraging the same in others.
- Continue developing your health and safety capability by attending Managing Safety training and other company safety activities.
- Take responsibility for ensuring plant and equipment remain in good condition and suitable for use.
Candidate profile
The ideal applicant will already have frontline security experience, hold valid SIA security and CCTV qualifications, and be comfortable working independently.
