Role Overview
A major food manufacturing company is looking to hire a Director of Operations to join its senior leadership team. This position demands an analytically strong leader responsible for overseeing daily operations at a plant with over 1500 employees. The role encompasses budget management, ensuring compliance with operational and safety standards, and handling administrative duties.
Key Duties
- Oversee all functions of a large food production facility employing more than 1500 staff.
- Provide guidance, support, and development to the management team.
- Ensure full adherence to safety protocols as well as food quality and safety standards.
- Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of all operational and management processes including budget oversight.
- Contribute to strategic planning and growth initiatives as part of the executive leadership.
- Lead and facilitate cross-departmental projects and initiatives.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree; advanced degrees such as a master's or MBA are preferred.
- At least 15 years of experience in food manufacturing plant leadership, including a minimum of 2 years as a plant manager or director.
- Experience managing large-scale manufacturing operations with over 1000 personnel.
- Familiarity with USDA regulations, especially within meat or frozen food sectors.
- Proficiency in strategic planning and proven success in fostering productive organizational cultures.
- Commitment to continuous process improvement.
- Spanish language skills are advantageous.
