About the Role
This role with a well-established and award-winning multidisciplinary environmental consultancy near Thetford offers an engaging career as a Consultant Ecologist. The company delivers comprehensive ecological, landscape, arboriculture, and planning services to diverse clients, focusing on sustainable and biodiverse development, ensuring compliance with UK environmental legislation and achieving biodiversity net gain.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting habitat and protected species surveys to collect essential ecological data.
- Preparing ecological reports, including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEAs), Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIAs), and Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) assessments.
- Supporting the full project lifecycle from initial ecological surveys to project completion.
- Providing expert guidance to clients concerning ecological limitations and appropriate mitigation strategies.
Required Qualifications and Attributes
- Possession of a degree in Ecology or a closely related field.
- Experience working in ecological consultancy applying UK standard survey methods.
- Strong written communication skills suitable for comprehensive report authoring.
- Full UK driving licence enabling travel to site and office locations.
- Legal authorization to work in the United Kingdom.
- Residence in or within commuting distance to Thetford office.
