Role Overview
Based full-time at the Kampala office, the Compensation Benefits Manager is accountable for the design, roll-out, and ongoing management of compensation and benefits schemes that are competitive, legally compliant, and aligned with the company's strategic objectives. This position involves conducting thorough job evaluations, updating and maintaining compensation frameworks, overseeing employee benefits programs, and ensuring precise administration of payroll-related benefits. The manager will also analyze market data trends, prepare insightful reports and recommendations for leadership consideration, and aid the HR team in policy formulation and employee engagement communications. Collaboration with finance, HR colleagues, and departmental heads is essential to uphold fair, equitable, and transparent reward processes.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Proficient in job evaluation methodologies and compensation structure design.
- Substantial hands-on experience managing compensation systems and establishing competitive remuneration frameworks.
- Skilled in benefits administration with experience handling employee benefits schemes.
- Competent in data analytics, HR reporting, and utilizing HRIS or payroll software.
- Holds a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a relevant discipline.
- Several years of practical experience in compensation and benefits or general human resources roles, ideally within commercial or distribution sectors.
- In-depth understanding of Ugandan labor laws, compliance requirements, and best practices for total rewards.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical capabilities, confidentiality, and effective communication skills.
