Role Overview

We are looking for a Category Insights Manager to serve as the key liaison for Sales and Consumer Marketing for specific product categories, spearheading strategic and tactical development within the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the product development lifecycle from conception to market.
  • Formulate strategies for channels and retailers to meet new product introduction goals and address gaps within existing key product ranges.
  • Create alignment strategies connecting customers and categories across Grocery, Mass Merchant, and Pharmacy channels.
  • Conduct comprehensive category reviews for major clients such as Coles, Woolworths, Priceline, CWH, Countdown, and Foodstuffs.
  • Analyze data to support sales strategies and evaluate their ongoing performance.
  • Generate shopper insights and deepen category understanding via scan and panel data, global shopper databases, and custom local research.
  • Provide detailed core assortment plans and preferred shelf layouts aligned with strategic priorities, regularly sharing these with the Sales Team.
  • Manage surplus stock for products listed as 9 months or older within assigned brands.

Candidate Profile

  • Possesses a business-related degree, preferably including marketing.
  • Holds 2 to 3 years of experience in Category Management, Trade Marketing, or Account Management within an FMCG setting.
