Position Overview
The position of Cashier is vital for delivering prompt, amicable, precise, and secure customer service. Responsibilities include handling Checkout and Return transactions as well as supervising the Self-Checkout zone. Cashiers actively acquire product and project knowledge to assist customers effectively and spot potential sales opportunities.
Key Duties
- Perform Checkout and Return transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Monitor and maintain the Self-Checkout area to ensure smooth operation.
- Acquire and apply product/project knowledge to guide customers and identify sales chances.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures to reduce shrinkage.
- Head Cashier duties include positioning Cashiers, expediting price checks, and approving Point of Sale transactions and markdowns across multiple service points like mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
- Resolve initial customer concerns and provide first-level escalation.
- Support coaching, supervision, and training efforts for Front End Associates including mentoring new Cashiers using available tools and techniques.
Qualifications
- Preferred qualification for Head Cashier: Minimum of one year of Cashier experience.
