About the Role and Culture

This role centers on supporting the finance department by enhancing the purchase ledger processes. The position involves performing a variety of accounts payable functions such as managing payments, controlling expenditures, and verifying invoices. It is ideal for someone eager to collaborate within a team, contribute meaningfully, and assist colleagues. Strong judgment, initiative, and the ability to manage diverse tasks under tight deadlines are essential.
This is a fixed-term contract for three months, ending on the 18th of September.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine and process a large volume of accounts payable invoices, handling multiple currencies.
- Manage invoice processing for subcontractors ensuring proper Retention, RCT, and CIS deductions.
- Address invoice-related queries by liaising with internal teams and external partners.
- Execute weekly and monthly supplier payments via online banking platforms.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of creditor accounts.
- Assist in preparing estimated creditor payments for weekly cash flow forecasts.
- Support external audit activities by supplying necessary documentation.
- Maintain high standards to ensure best financial practices are upheld consistently.
- Handle general finance administrative tasks and other duties as needed.
Candidate Requirements
- At least two years’ experience in accounts payable within a sizable organization.
- Familiarity with RCT and CIS processing via ROS and HMRC is advantageous.
- Strong literacy, numeracy, and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Competent analytical and numerical abilities.
- Experience with data analysis.
- Knowledge of AX Microsoft and 4PS software is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
- Capability to meet financial targets and deadlines.
