About the internship

This remote internship is with Swaraj, a news and civic accountability app created by Anicca Labs. The product is designed to help people quickly understand important news without clickbait or noise, while also letting them report civic problems such as broken roads, unsafe water, or non-working streetlights so they can remain visible until resolved.

You will join in a founding role focused on news, content, and social media. The position involves close collaboration with the founder, helping shape Swaraj’s tone, driving audience engagement, and taking end-to-end ownership of stories and distribution.

What you will do

• Manage an AI-assisted news workflow by editing, refining, and publishing three concise news updates each day.
• Develop high-impact content such as carousels, infographics, headlines, Reels, and ad creatives through research and design.
• Handle distribution across Instagram, LinkedIn, X, and YouTube Shorts.
• Plan and run Meta advertising campaigns using Meta Ads Manager.
• Transform civic and public-interest issues into engaging narratives that encourage people to care and act.
• Help define and maintain Swaraj’s voice so it remains clear, credible, direct, and free of unnecessary fluff.
• Reply to citizens publicly with intelligence, wit, and professionalism.
• Support influencer outreach by building relationships and converting them into collaborations.
• Work closely with the founder on strategy, experimentation, and fast iterations.

• Strong command of English without depending on AI tools.
• Good reading habits and a natural grasp of language and expression.
• High general awareness, especially of current affairs and civic issues in India.
• Ability to research, condense complex topics, and ask incisive questions.
• Comfort with experimentation, publishing, learning, and improving quickly.
• Understanding of distribution and growth, not only content creation.
• Knowledge of how to grow pages and increase reach.
• Ability to handle online criticism with composure and wit.
• Basic video editing and visual design ability, with tools such as Canva, Figma, or CapCut considered an advantage.
• Strong motivation to build something meaningful.

Additional information

Stipend: INR 8,000 to 12,000 per month.
