Position Overview

The Restaurant Utility Worker ensures the restaurant and its equipment are clean, well-maintained, and operational. Duties include daily and deep cleaning as well as preventive upkeep of the building and kitchen appliances.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete all mandatory training set forth by Zax LLC.
• Monitor and maintain a safe, clean, and well-functioning restaurant environment.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled cleaning and basic maintenance tasks.
• Conduct regular cleaning and preventive servicing on all restaurant machinery.
• Inspect, test, and operate equipment to identify and troubleshoot issues.
• Handle minor repairs such as lighting fixes.
• Engage in extensive cleaning including pressure washing both inside and outside areas.
• Understand and follow equipment manuals and work orders.
• Regularly check grounds, plumbing, electrical fixtures, kitchen equipment, and overall building condition for preventive action.
• Maintain detailed, accurate maintenance logs.
• Ensure operational standards comply with Zaxby’s Franchising LLC and Zax LLC policies.
• Adhere strictly to safety guidelines and practices.
• Exhibit flexibility to perform duties beyond the stated role when necessary.
• Promptly report human resources and risk concerns to management.
• Assist with any additional duties needed for smooth restaurant operations.

Candidate Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Reliable transportation is necessary.
• Full-time availability between 32 and 40 hours weekly, with flexibility including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong leadership abilities, organizational skills, and teamwork aptitude.

Physical and Capability Needs

• Ability to continuously sit, stand, and walk.
• Occasional bending, stooping, crouching, climbing, including ladder use.
• Regularly lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds, including overhead lifting.
• Consistently utilize hand and wrist coordination for grasping and fine motor tasks.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Good auditory and visual senses to monitor and respond appropriately.
• Comfort working in indoor/outdoor environments with temperature variations and potential allergen exposure.
• Operate potentially hazardous restaurant equipment safely, including knives and fryers.
