Overview
An established international engineering consultancy is recruiting a Project Director to lead significant Aquifer Storage & Recovery (ASR) construction and implementation projects based in Doha, Qatar. This senior role suits an expert with extensive experience managing complex water infrastructure initiatives throughout their lifecycle, from design to commissioning and operational handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all phases of ASR project development including planning, design coordination, construction, commissioning, and implementation.
- Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams ensuring adherence to quality, safety, schedules, and budgets.
- Maintain effective relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Track project progress, assess risks, and develop mitigation plans to address potential challenges.
- Ensure projects comply with contract terms, technical requirements, and international engineering norms.
- Provide strategic guidance and technical leadership throughout project execution.
Candidate Requirements
- Possess a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or a related field; a master's degree is advantageous.
- Have at least 15 years of professional experience in delivering major water infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated expertise in the design, construction, and operation of ASR or similar groundwater storage/recovery systems.
- Minimum of 3 years experience within an engineering consultancy environment.
- Hold a PMP (Project Management Professional) certification - this is mandatory.
- Exhibit strong leadership capabilities and stakeholder management skills necessary to guide multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven ability in managing project delivery aspects including contracts, schedules, budgeting, quality control, and risk management.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills with diverse project stakeholders including clients and regulatory bodies.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
