Overview
The Program Manager for Internal Communications plays a vital role in keeping employees informed and connected on key initiatives within HR, AI, IT, and Impact at the co-op. This position involves collaborating closely with leaders to craft clear and meaningful communications that explain ongoing efforts, their significance, and how employees can engage.
This role requires consolidating complex, cross-departmental information into straightforward messages that enhance awareness, alignment, and encourage adoption throughout the organization.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the main communications partner for significant projects spanning HR, AI, IT, and Impact, overseeing comprehensive communication strategies to ensure consistency across teams.
- Collaborate with leadership to weave discrete initiatives into a unified corporate narrative.
- Create integrated communication plans that align with business goals and critical timing.
- Manage the coordination of messaging and scheduling across initiatives to improve message clarity and minimize information overload.
- Translate intricate subject matter into accessible and engaging content tailored to diverse employee groups.
Required Qualifications
- Five to seven or more years of experience in internal or corporate communications or a related discipline.
- Highly developed emotional intelligence with a history of effectively navigating complex organizational environments and cultivating trusted advisory relationships without direct authority.
- Proven ability to manage communications for multifaceted, cross-functional programs.
- Skilled at converting technical or policy-heavy content into clear, understandable messaging.
- Experience engaging diverse stakeholders including HR and business leaders.
- Excellent written and oral communication proficiency.
- Strong organizational skills and program management expertise.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background supporting HR initiatives such as benefits, talent management, learning, and employee experience programs.
- Experience related to technology projects, digital transformation, or AI-focused initiatives.
- Working knowledge of large, matrixed organizations with distributed teams.
- Familiarity with multi-channel internal communication techniques.
- Experience facilitating leader communications and enterprise-level events.
