Role Overview
We are currently seeking a part-time Payroll Officer for a 12-month contract, with potential hybrid work options. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role entails overseeing the entire payroll function, ensuring accuracy, adherence to legislation, and timely execution of all payroll activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete payroll process for the College.
- Conduct fortnightly payroll runs, including PAYG, Single Touch Payroll, Superannuation, and Salary Sacrifice submissions.
- Perform necessary reconciliations and calculations related to payroll.
- Maintain and configure the payroll system to ensure efficient operations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, awards, and contractual obligations.
- Prepare monthly financial and management reports as needed.
Candidate Profile
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of three years’ experience managing end-to-end payroll functions.
- Proficiency in Excel at an intermediate level.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for professional interactions.
- Possession or eligibility to obtain a Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
- Alignment with The Industry School’s values.
- Legal entitlement to work in Australia.
Preferred Attributes:
- Familiarity with The Alpha School System (TASS).
- Experience working in the education sector.
- Understanding of annualised salary structures.
