Job description
Position Overview
We are seeking dedicated Live-in Caregivers to deliver personalized care and support to clients within their own residences across Ireland. This role is open to candidates residing locally or internationally, provided they possess the legal authorization to work in Ireland, as no visa sponsorship is offered.
Successful international candidates will receive extensive relocation assistance including flights, accommodations, meals, and transportation aligned with the placement plan.
Role Responsibilities
- Reside in the client’s home to provide daily practical care, companionship, and household assistance tailored to individual care plans.
- Typical working schedule involves an eight-week rotation period followed by an eight-week break.
- Assist with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and continence care.
- Support mobility needs including walking and safe transfers.
- Prepare meals ensuring nutritional support.
- Offer companionship and emotional encouragement.
- Accompany clients to medical appointments and local activities.
- Assist with shopping and running errands.
- Handle light housekeeping duties including laundry and general household chores.
- Provide medication reminders and update care management teams regarding any changes in client condition.
- Maintain accurate care records consistent with the agreed care plan.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of six months recent professional caregiving experience in environments such as nursing homes, hospitals, home care services, or live-in care settings.
- Proficient spoken and written English skills.
- Demonstrated compassion, respectfulness, and a client-centered mindset.
- Ability to work autonomously and adapt flexibly to varying home environments.
- Commitment to confidentiality and respecting client privacy.
- Physical capability to perform the duties required.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Willingness to complete mandatory training and comply with background checks including Irish Garda vetting.
Qualifications & Eligibility
Applicants holding a QQI Level 5 qualification in Care Skills and Care of Older Persons, or an equivalent certification, qualify for a higher pay bracket. Candidates without this credential may still be considered for a lower pay bracket subject to training completion requirements.
Legal eligibility to work in Ireland is mandatory and can be evidenced through EU/EEA/Swiss citizenship or valid Irish immigration permissions such as Stamp 4. Visa sponsorship is not provided.
Relocation Assistance
- Flight and travel arrangements.
- Provision of accommodation and meals during placement.
- Transportation support including travel between rotations.
Relocation specifics will be discussed with each successful candidate during onboarding.
Compensation
- Band 1 (Unqualified): €14.15 hourly (Mon-Sat), €16.27 hourly (Sun), €20 sleeping night allowance (Mon-Sat), €30 sleeping night allowance (Sun).
- Band 2 (Qualified): €14.94 hourly (Mon-Sat), €17.18 hourly (Sun), €20 sleeping night allowance (Mon-Sat), €30 sleeping night allowance (Sun).
- Additional 15% hourly rate for caregivers supporting couples.

Training Requirements
- Completion of mandatory online and in-person training modules such as HSELand, Dovida Academy, manual handling, and dementia care.
Working Conditions
- Live-in care with an expected rotation schedule of 8 weeks on duty followed by 8 weeks off.
- Working weekends and overnight shifts as dictated by client needs.
- Flexibility to adapt to specific individual care requirements and various home environments.
