Job description
Overview
Fujairah International Airport is looking for a Head of Quality to spearhead the development, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of its Quality Management System (QMS) across all departments. This leadership role involves offering strategic direction on audits, corrective actions, risk controls, and certifications aligned with ISO standards and General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the design, deployment, upkeep, and effectiveness of the QMS and compliance verification throughout the airport operations.
- Advise the Accountable Executive on matters related to quality, environmental health, and occupational health and safety (OH&S).
- Oversee operational processes to confirm adherence to established procedures and regulatory mandates.
- Lead the audit and assessment functions by FIA Internal Auditors, maintaining a comprehensive audit program covering organizational compliance, Aerodrome/SMS manual conformity, and policy adherence.
- Track and ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive measures.
- Develop, update, and maintain quality-related documentation, including Integrated Management System (IMS) manuals, policies, and procedures.
- Organize Management Reviews and communicate quality, health, safety, and environment (QHSE) outcomes within the organization.
- Guarantee quality assurance for aeronautical data and ensure data traceability as required by GCAA standards.
- Analyze quality performance indicators to detect and address existing or potential issues through preventive actions.
- Lead and nurture the compliance team focused on Quality and Health Safety & Environment (HSE), set performance benchmarks, and advocate for continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain the relevance and efficiency of the quality assurance system through rigorous statistical analysis and management review.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Aviation Management; advanced degrees or certifications related to Quality or Safety are preferable.
- Between 5 to 8 years of professional experience in Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE), ideally within the aviation sector.
- Comprehensive training and expertise in safety and quality management systems, auditing practices, ISO standards, and International Air Transport Association (IATA) standards.
- Knowledge of aviation quality processes is advantageous.
- Familiarity with the GCAA regulatory framework, including Civil Aviation Regulations (CAR), Civil Aviation Advisory Publications (CAAP), Guidance Material (GM), as well as the State Safety Program, Aerodrome Safety Management System (SMS), Aerodrome Certification Process, and Aerodrome Projects.
- Strong communication skills both written and oral.
