About the Role
NETIS Group is seeking a seasoned SHERQ Manager to oversee the Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, and Quality functions at the national level in Kenya. This position involves ensuring the consistent application of the Group's SHERQ standards throughout all projects, operations, and offices. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the Integrated Management System compliant with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards while adhering to local regulations and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and uphold Group-wide SHERQ policies, procedures, and standards.
- Maintain and enhance the Integrated Management System for continuous improvement.
- Guarantee adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and customer requirements.
- Lead and coordinate risk assessments, incidents investigations, and emergency preparedness planning.
- Organize and manage both internal and external audits, ensuring prompt corrective action follow-ups.
- Oversee compliance of subcontractors concerning HSE and quality standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of sites and field audits to monitor compliance.
- Foster a culture centered on proactive safety and environmental sustainability.
- Monitor environmental metrics, including waste management and greenhouse gas indicators.
- Prepare and deliver periodic SHERQ reports to local management and Group stakeholders.
- Direct and develop the local SHERQ team to meet organizational objectives.
- Plan, prepare, and manage the department’s yearly budget effectively.
Candidate Profile
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in fields such as Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), quality management, engineering, or related disciplines.
- A minimum of five years' leadership experience within SHERQ roles.
- Preferably experienced in sectors like telecommunications, energy, or infrastructure.
- Comprehensive understanding of ISO certifications: ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
- Well-versed in health, safety, and environmental legislation, along with risk management frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability managing subcontractors and ensuring onsite compliance.
- Experiences in sustainability practices, ESG reporting, or IFC Performance Standards will be an asset.
- Strong leadership, analytical ability, and communication skills.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite and various reporting tools.
- Capability to thrive working within diverse, multicultural teams and environments.
