Compensation
The role includes structured tenure-based pay growth and uncapped commissions, creating strong earning potential.
Initial base pay is listed at $19.23–$43.26 per hour, or $40,000–$90,000 per year.
Commission structure: sales earn commission based on product type, including 50%–150% of one month’s MRCs (monthly recurring charges), 1/12 of one-time NRCs (non-recurring charges), and 1/24 of Burst.
With tenure, base pay may increase to $19.23–$52.88 per hour, or $40,000–$110,000 per year, depending on structured tenure-based and performance-based increases.
Final offers within the stated range depend on factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and business needs.
Key Responsibilities
The Global Account Manager will focus on building pipeline and winning new business across assigned regional and global sales territories.
- Prospect for new opportunities within the assigned territory and target market segments, including IP transit, content creators/hosters, carriers/wholesalers, and netcentric businesses.
- Use outbound calling, email outreach, and other contact methods to identify, qualify, and develop opportunities by engaging key decision-makers directly.
- Conduct on-site customer meetings when needed to support prospecting and closing efforts.
- Apply consultative, relationship-driven selling methods to uncover both current and future connectivity needs.
- Present Cogent’s services by leveraging its global network footprint, including commercial and retail buildings, carrier-neutral hotels, data centers, and colocation facilities.
Qualifications
- 3–8+ years of proven B2B sales experience in telecom, preferably with colocation, wholesale, data transit, and transport exposure.
- Demonstrated success in a direct-hunting sales role with quota achievement.
- Strong ability to prospect, research, qualify, and create new business opportunities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment with revenue deadlines.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and CRM tools is an advantage.
- A college degree is preferred, though not mandatory.
Work Environment
This is an in-office position requiring attendance five days per week. The setup is intended to support mentorship, training, and personal coaching.
