Role Overview

We are searching for a strategic and analytical Controller / Senior Fund Accountant to join our finance team as a key contributor. This position involves managing accounting processes, enhancing efficiency, and safeguarding the financial health of both our family office and venture capital funds.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee accounting activities for family office funds, including accurate recording of investments and tax basis maintenance.
  • Prepare financial statements detailing fund performance and profit share distributions.
  • Manage relationship and coordination with outsourced fund administrators responsible for VC fund financials and performance reporting.
  • Review monthly financial books and records prepared by external accounting firms for operating companies.
  • Develop financial reports, presentations, and analyses for executives and investors, such as investment performance and portfolio company evaluations.
  • Handle investor transactions including subscriptions, capital calls, distributions, and shareholder matters related to third-party investments.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance infrastructure and workflow systems.
  • Design and implement scalable accounting systems and workflows to support family office fund operations efficiently.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Preference for CPA certification.
  • More than 7 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, focusing on fund accounting within investment management.
  • Proven success in managing outsourced relationships with fund administrators and tax firms.
  • Advanced Excel and financial reporting skills.
  • Strong leadership with the ability to work autonomously and handle complex tasks.
