Job description

Position Overview

We are looking for a dependable and motivated Assistant Site Manager to support daily operations at a bustling construction site located at 1/107 Highbury Rd, Burwood, Victoria. This part-time role, offering 3 to 5 working days per week, provides an opportunity to grow your expertise in site management while collaborating with a skilled professional team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Site Manager by assisting with coordination of daily site tasks to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and within timelines.
  • Facilitate communication with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal stakeholders to streamline site activities.
  • Track construction progress actively, identify potential challenges or delays, and communicate improvement strategies to the Site Manager.
  • Ensure all operations comply with Work Health & Safety regulations, company policies, and site safety plans.
  • Perform routine site inspections to assess workmanship quality and adherence to approved drawings and specifications.
  • Manage logistics including organization of material deliveries, equipment use, and warehouse coordination to avoid delays.
  • Keep comprehensive site records such as daily diaries, progress and defect reports, variation documentation, and photographic evidence.
  • Assist in project scheduling and milestone monitoring, preparing for Building Surveyor reviews, Occupancy Permit acquisitions, and final project handover.
  • Coordinate quality assurance activities and defect rectifications to ensure completed work meets company standards.
  • Develop and maintain positive professional relationships with clients, consultants, and trades, representing the RubiksCraft brand effectively.
  • Provide feedback and suggest enhancements for construction methods, site efficiency, and project delivery processes.
  • Carry out additional project-related duties as necessary to contribute to successful outcomes.

Candidate Requirements

  • Prior experience in construction or on-site roles is an advantage.
  • Fundamental knowledge of construction workflows and safety principles.
  • Excellent organizational and communication capabilities.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work autonomously when required.
  • Physically fit to work in outdoor site environments.
  • Dependable and punctual with a commitment to maintain a secure and efficient workplace.
  • Possession of a valid White Card (mandatory).
  • Driver’s license required.

Working Conditions and Compensation

  • Flexible scheduling with 3–5 working days per week based on project requirements.
  • A probation period lasting 3 months.
  • Hourly wage of $26, disbursed monthly.
