Role Overview
We seek an Accounting Technician/Clerk to join our team in Little Island, Cork. This role encompasses the management of both accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate and timely financial record keeping. Key tasks include processing vendor invoices, managing payment runs, resolving supplier discrepancies, issuing client invoices, monitoring receivables, and following up on overdue payments to support smooth cash flow. Also included is assisting with financial reporting by maintaining the general ledger, preparing monthly financial statements, and monitoring budget adherence.
Responsibilities
- Process vendor invoices for accuracy, proper ledger coding, and obtaining necessary approvals.
- Execute scheduled payment runs (weekly or bi-weekly).
- Reconcile vendor accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
- Generate and dispatch precise customer invoices promptly.
- Track outstanding receivables, record payments, and pursue overdue balances.
- Prepare bank deposits and ensure accurate recording.
- Maintain the general ledger with accurate transaction postings.
- Compile monthly financial reports such as Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow Statement.
- Support management in comparing departmental expenses against budgets.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- More than five years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Strong proficiency with Sage accounting software.
- Exceptional data entry accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
- Well-developed organizational abilities to prioritize workloads and meet close monthly deadlines.
- Excellent capability to adhere to strict reporting timelines.

- Experience specifically using Sage software.
