The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated Vehicle Logistics Officer to be based in Kilburn, South Australia. This role is central to our fleet control and dispatch operations, requiring someone with experience in fleet coordination or dispatch to support our "Always Safe" culture by managing service collections and delivering operational expertise to customers.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the main contact for all driver and fleet-related matters by providing operational support and swiftly addressing issues.
- Enhance route efficiency to boost productivity and improve cost centre profitability through identifying and applying route improvements.
- Conduct detailed daily briefings with drivers to capture safety issues, load data, and service completion status accurately.
- Ensure full compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and National Heavy Vehicle (NHVR) fatigue regulations within the fleet.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and maintenance teams to maintain vehicle readiness and service delivery standards.
- Perform administrative duties including reporting and stock management essential for supporting logistics processes.
Requirements
- Proven experience in fleet scheduling and optimizing routes to increase operational effectiveness and profitability.
- Sound understanding of transport compliance, particularly CoR and NHVR fatigue legislation.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, clear communication skills, and proficiency with computer tools, preferably Google Workspace.
