About the Role
Join EQUANS ANZ as a Payroll Specialist, working part-time (3-4 days weekly) with flexible hours and hybrid working options. This role focuses on managing accurate and compliant payroll processing within a complex, multi-entity environment. You will play an essential role ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time in accordance with various industrial agreements and legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete end-to-end payroll processing for weekly and monthly cycles, including timesheet management, payroll uploads, electronic fund transfers, and payslip distribution.
- Handle employee changes such as onboarding, transfers, and terminations while maintaining accurate records.
- Calculate and administer leave entitlements like annual, personal, long service, parental leave, rostered days off, and other accrued benefits.
- Ensure payroll accuracy and adherence to Enterprise Agreements, Awards, and legislative requirements.
- Perform payroll data reconciliation and month-end/year-end reporting and activities.
- Support payroll audits and compliance processes and respond to payroll inquiries from employees, managers, and other stakeholders.
- Manage statutory compliance tasks including superannuation payment processing and reconciliation, payroll tax obligations, portable long service leave, workers compensation reporting, and employee deductions.
- Provide payroll-related guidance to employees and management, liaise with super funds and external providers, and collaborate with HR, Finance, and operations teams to resolve payroll issues effectively.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- At least 7 years of progressive payroll experience within complex environments.
- Proven expertise in full-cycle payroll processing, reporting, and reconciliation.
- Mandatory proficiency with iChris or Chris21 payroll systems.
- Strong knowledge in superannuation processing, EFT payments, payroll reconciliations, and legal compliance.
- In-depth understanding of Enterprise Bargaining Agreements, Modern Awards, payroll legislation, and compliance standards.
- Experience managing payroll for multiple entities or across several Australian states.
- Excellent attention to detail with high levels of confidentiality and ability to work autonomously under multiple deadlines.
Desirable Attributes
- Background in payroll within the construction industry.
- Familiarity with UKG Workforce Ready, UKG Pro, Kronos, or similar UKG platforms.
- Exposure to Time & Attendance systems and multi-site organizational payroll operations.
- Experience with payroll coding and a relevant tertiary qualification in Business, HR, Finance, or related fields.
