Job description

Position Overview

Google is searching for a senior leader to head the Global Network Acquisition team for the South Asia and Oceania regions. This role involves spearheading Google's network infrastructure strategy in these crucial growth markets. You will lead a team responsible for securing key network assets such as managed optical services, dark fiber, colocation facilities, and submarine cable infrastructure, impacting Google's global connectivity and cost-efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the South Asia and Oceania Strategic Negotiators managing commercial contracts and vendor interactions.
  • Formulate and implement strategic plans for acquiring network infrastructure that align with Google's expansion goals.
  • Conduct negotiations on sophisticated agreements covering managed optical services, dark fiber, colocation spaces, and submarine cable projects.
  • Engage collaboratively with government agencies and regulators to facilitate Google's network infrastructure development.
  • Deliver presentations and progress updates to Google leadership teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Completed Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Fourteen years of experience in networking technologies throughout the OSI model.
  • At least ten years in a leadership role guiding teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success in sourcing colocation, dark fiber, and high-capacity network services to fuel regional infrastructure expansion.
  • Comprehensive understanding of edge networks and global carrier networks to optimize Google's global network footprint.
  • Capability to define clear strategies and foster agreement amid complex regulatory, technical, and business challenges.
  • Strong analytical and presentation abilities to influence stakeholders and lead data-driven negotiation initiatives.

About the Team

The Infrastructure team underpins all Google products and services, including data centers, underwater cables, and network platforms. The Strategic Negotiation team works to secure essential infrastructure assets through expert negotiation and partnership management, contributing to Google's efficiency and growth.
