Overview

We are seeking an experienced Receptionist to join the front office team at Kilkenny River Court Hotel. This role requires flexibility to work early, evening, midweek, and weekend shifts. Candidates must be residents of Ireland and hold at least one year of prior hotel front office experience. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to collaborate well within a team are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review guest requests before arrival and effectively communicate them to relevant departments.
  • Welcome guests upon arrival, anticipating and providing necessary assistance.
  • Handle incoming calls via switchboard in accordance with established standards.
  • Conduct check-in and check-out procedures, manage cash and guest accounts accurately.
  • Manage online and phone reservations as needed.
  • Ensure guest allocations are completed properly, optimizing yield management.
  • Maximize room occupancy by promoting the best available rates.
  • Utilize up-selling strategies to advertise hotel services and facilities.
  • Promptly address guest requests and resolve issues efficiently, escalating when necessary.
  • Adhere strictly to security procedures related to guest belongings and cash handling.
  • Maintain accuracy in cash handling, including balancing floats at the start and end of shifts.
  • Ensure all guest profiles and billing processes are accurate and compliant with hotel policies.
  • Participate in departmental training sessions and meetings as required.
  • Maintain professional service standards, uniform, and personal appearance.
  • Exhibit flexibility regarding working days and shifts based on the departmental schedule.
