Role Overview

The university is seeking multiple Admissions Officers to be based in the Regional Office in India who will also be part of the central Admissions team located in London. These officers will support recruitment and admissions processes by handling applicant queries, providing information on entry standards and qualification equivalences, managing applications, and meeting individual and team goals. Flexibility is required to work across different team tasks during busy periods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise prospective applicants, their advisors, and colleagues on admissions policies, entry criteria, and how international qualifications compare to UK standards.
  • Process and validate applications in compliance with the admissions policies and procedures.
  • Review academic schools’ selection decisions and raise concerns when necessary.
  • Make admission offers or rejections as per established criteria where authorized.
  • Enter application data and decisions accurately into the admissions system.
  • Compile application and offer statistics to be sent to the London office.
  • Prepare applicant records for enrollment and assist with the enrollment process.
  • Manage workload efficiently, prioritize tasks to meet deadlines, and use judgment within set guidelines, consulting managers only on unusual cases.
  • Gain and maintain expertise in specific academic subject areas.
  • Adhere to Data Protection, Disability Discrimination, Equality and Diversity, and other pertinent legislation at all times.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong understanding of the UK higher education system, including trends, qualifications, UCAS procedures, fee regulations, and student visa policies.
  • Experience in administrative roles supporting student recruitment or admissions is advantageous.
  • Background in customer service, preferably within recruitment-focused settings.
  • Previous experience working in complex and regulated environments.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy.
  • Capacity to learn and apply complex regulations and procedures consistently and accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications at an intermediate level.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Adaptability and willingness to be flexible regarding regular working hours.
