Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards.
• Monitor the site actively to ensure all processes adhere to Amazon’s safety standards.
• Prepare and update safety performance reports enabling colleagues to review key metrics.
• Collaborate with and provide guidance to operational staff and broader company teams on safety practices and procedures.
• Assist in rolling out new safety initiatives across the workplace.

Daily Work Life

You will be stationed at one of Amazon’s logistics locations onsite, attentively observing daily operations. Employees may approach you with safety-related inquiries during shifts, so anticipating and resolving potential issues proactively is vital. You will perform continuous site inspections, become familiar with how equipment is used, understand machinery and task functions, and ensure process safety optimization.

You are instrumental in implementing safety change measures and work closely with many stakeholders. Besides routine activities, you'll provide ad hoc safety support to the operations team. Occupational safety is a priority at Amazon; you will assist in gathering critical data that helps analyze processes and prevent problems. Sharing this information across teams promotes a culture where safety takes precedence.

About the WHS Team

The Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) team is dedicated to supporting the mental and physical welfare of employees on site. Together with managers, partner companies, and local authorities, this team ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and maintains safe working conditions throughout all locations.

The team includes diverse roles ranging from safety engineers to program managers. No matter your position, you will contribute to creating, enforcing, and upholding Amazon’s high health and safety standards. Potential collaborations include working company-wide on inspections of equipment and processes, as well as assessments of designs for procedures, buildings, and devices.

Qualifications

• Completed vocational training or relevant occupational experience in a related field.
• Experience using data analytics to produce and validate key safety metrics.
• Fluent German language skills.
• Good command of English.

Preferred Attributes

• Proven ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, either through written reports or presentations.
• Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Certification as a safety specialist is advantageous.
