Role Overview
This is a full-time, on-site position located in Gorakhpur. The Safety Officer will oversee daily site operations to ensure strict compliance with safety policies and regulations. Responsibilities include routine inspections of work zones, equipment, and procedures; identifying hazards; implementing corrective actions; and maintaining thorough safety records like incident documentation and risk evaluations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine safety inspections across work areas and equipment.
- Identify risks and apply effective corrective measures to mitigate hazards.
- Maintain accurate documentation such as incident reports and risk assessments.
- Organize and facilitate safety training sessions, inductions, and toolbox talks to promote health and safety awareness.
- Support accident investigations and reporting procedures.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, supervisors, and workers to advance safety standards on site.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety and Occupational Health standards and regulations.
- Proficiency in accident investigation including root cause analysis and developing corrective action plans.
- Experienced in delivering safety training, including inductions and toolbox talks.
- Understanding of security protocols relevant to construction and landscaping project sites.
- Preferably holds a diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or similar are advantageous.
- Ability to interpret regulations clearly and communicate effectively with diverse teams.
- Strong observational skills with attention to detail and proactive intervention in unsafe situations.
- Prior experience in construction, landscaping, or infrastructure sectors is beneficial.
