About the Role

Join a leading Group Training Organisation as a Payroll Officer overseeing comprehensive payroll activities for apprentices, trainees, and employees. You will be entrusted with managing all payroll processes ensuring each pay run is timely, precise, compliant with awards and legislation, and provides excellent service quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and execute full payroll runs for all staff including apprentices and trainees, guaranteeing prompt and compliant wage disbursements according to applicable awards and agreements.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate payroll records encompassing pay rates, allowances, deductions, leave balances, and overtime.
  • Manage payroll software efficiency by collaborating with providers and integrating legislative updates and system enhancements.
  • Issue employee Group Certificates and Income Statements, maintaining accuracy in tax reporting obligations.
  • Reconcile payroll liabilities such as superannuation and deductions, ensuring punctual payments to authorities.
  • Administer workers compensation and rehabilitation records and payments compliant with legal requirements.
  • Support internal payroll audits by verifying transaction accuracy and adherence to control policies.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven track record handling end-to-end payroll in medium to large-scale organisations.
  • Deep understanding of Australian payroll laws, awards, National Employment Standards, taxation, and superannuation.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail ensuring high payroll accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills fostering positive relations with employees, managers, and external contacts.
  • Proficiency with payroll systems and eagerness to enhance payroll processes and efficiencies.

Experience within apprenticeship, training, recruitment, or workforce solutions sectors is a strong advantage.
