Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled and innovative Payroll Officer to join our dynamic team based in Brisbane. This is a permanent, full-time role where you will be responsible for managing payroll processes that support our business operations efficiently and compliantly.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately process the fortnightly payroll, including the management of timesheets, leave records, allowances, deductions, and any employee adjustments.
- Ensure payroll compliance through meticulous superannuation administration and maintenance of precise employee records.
- Offer prompt and supportive payroll-related assistance to both employees and management, fostering continuous improvements in payroll systems and procedures.
- Compile and sustain detailed payroll and monthly reports, such as payroll reconciliations, analyses of employee costs, leave liability tracking, and offer insightful payroll data to assist with financial reporting and strategic decision-making.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Demonstrated experience handling payroll functions, coupled with a solid understanding of Australian payroll legislation, awards, tax laws, and superannuation policies.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to handle confidential information responsibly while meeting stringent deadlines.
- Proficiency with payroll software and intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- A proactive, client-focused mindset paired with excellent communication abilities and talent for cultivating positive relationships with stakeholders across various levels.
