Job description
Position Overview
Acmefil Eng. System Pvt. Ltd. is actively seeking a proficient and meticulous Design Engineer to join our Engineering and Design department at VATVA GIDC, Ahmedabad. This full-time role demands a candidate with 1 to 5 years of experience to facilitate the creation, development, and realization of designs for process plants and industrial machinery.
Core Duties
- Create detailed 2D and 3D designs for various process equipment including piping, structural components, and plant layouts.
- Draft general arrangement, fabrication, assembly, and manufacturing drawings for equipment like tanks, vessels, reactors, dryers, mixers, and heat exchangers.
- Generate accurate bills of materials (BOMs), material take-offs (MTOs), and material specifications based on approved engineering designs.
- Ensure that all designs comply with relevant engineering codes, standards, and client-defined criteria.
- Collaborate closely with process engineering, production, procurement, project teams, and site personnel to resolve design concerns and review vendor submissions.
- Lead design review sessions and update drawings to meet evolving project requirements.
- Assist in selecting, sizing, and technically evaluating equipment as needed.
- Maintain high standards for dimensional accuracy, manufacturability, fabrication simplicity, installation, and serviceability.
- Engage in site visits for inspection, commissioning, troubleshooting, and quality assurance activities as required.
- Manage engineering documentation and uphold revision control processes to ensure all deliverables meet scheduled deadlines.
Essential Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering (B.E./B.Tech/Diploma).
- Minimum 2 years up to 5 years experience in mechanical design focused on process equipment, plant engineering, or industrial manufacturing.
- Preferred background in industries such as pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, food processing, chemical, dairy, or API manufacturing.
Technical Expertise
- Proficient with AutoCAD and experienced with at least one 3D CAD software like SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, or Solid Edge.
- Comprehensive understanding of process equipment and industrial plant design concepts.
- Knowledge of fabrication techniques including welding, sheet metal work, and machining.
- Ability to interpret various engineering diagrams including PFDs, P&IDs, GA, and equipment drawings.
- Familiarity with pressure vessels, tanks, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and utilities.
- Working knowledge of engineering design codes such as ASME, IS, DIN, ASTM is advantageous.
- Understanding engineering calculation methods and design principles.
- Experience with BOM/MTO preparation and ERP system applications is a plus.
