Role Overview
This position is for a data architect specializing in people data within the human resources function of Changi Airport Group. The role involves creating and maintaining reliable data systems that transform multiple HR data sources into a trustworthy, centralized platform. The outcome of this work supports enhanced employee experiences, including personalized HR services, faster processing, insightful analytics, and future AI-driven applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and manage an integrated People data architecture connecting multiple HR systems including SuccessFactors, ServiceNow, Cornerstone, Power Apps, analytics tools, Microsoft Fabric, and AI interfaces.
- Choose and implement appropriate integration technologies such as APIs, middleware, ETL pipelines, and event-driven workflows, making extensive use of Microsoft technologies to reduce data silos and manual tasks.
- Lead the design and continued enhancement of the People Data Platform, ensuring it efficiently orchestrates data flow, consolidates information, and is scalable for future data sources and analytic needs.
- Establish solid data governance and quality assurance mechanisms with validation, monitoring, reconciliation, and adherence to privacy and security standards.
- Collaborate with Data Owners to standardize employee identifiers, job attributes, and organizational hierarchies, embedding compliance controls from the outset.
- Drive organizational change by educating stakeholders on new data tools, promoting data literacy, and securing buy-in for data platform initiatives.
- Ensure availability of high-quality data for reporting, analytics, and AI, enabling self-service through curated, standardized datasets using tools like Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a specialized team responsible for data pipelines, integrations, and analytics capabilities, including timely troubleshooting and coordination with IT and vendors.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 6 to 8 years of experience in data architecture, engineering, or development, with a history of delivering enterprise data solutions, integrations, and analytic platforms.
- Proficiency in designing data models, databases, relational and non-relational schemas, data warehousing, and building data lakes or hubs.
- Strong knowledge of system integration via APIs, ETL/ELT processes, middleware, and real-time data exchange technologies including RESTful APIs, web services, message queues, and data streaming.
- Experience implementing data quality controls, governance frameworks, validation rules, monitoring dashboards, and data lineage, alongside awareness of data protection regulations like PDPA and embedding security/privacy measures.
- Proven leadership or mentoring capabilities within technical or data specialist teams, with strong aptitude to convert business needs into scalable technical solutions.
- Interest and experience in AI applications to extend team productivity.
Preferred Experience
- Background working with HR systems such as SuccessFactors is highly advantageous.
- Hands-on familiarity with Microsoft Azure cloud services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Microsoft Fabric), Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps), and integration tools like SAP CPI, Boomi, Snowflake, or Databricks.
- Knowledge of People Analytics and HR data domains.
- Enthusiasm for AI, automation, and enhancing digital employee experience.
- Relevant certifications like Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer or Azure Solutions Architect, or related data architecture/governance credentials.
