Technical Lead - Java

Overview

Qatar Airways is seeking an experienced Java Developer / Lead with a strong drive for technological advancement. The successful candidate will collaborate with diverse technical teams to design and implement the next generation of web and mobile applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop robust, high-quality code complemented by unit tests in alignment with established specifications.
• Produce documentation including sequence diagrams and detailed low-level design artifacts.
• Conduct comprehensive code analysis, peer reviews, requirements evaluation, software assessments, system risk analysis, and software reliability evaluations.
• Ensure developed solutions meet non-functional requirements such as performance, security, auditing, and data integrity.
• Investigate and resolve production issues promptly and proactively to preempt potential defects, supporting root cause analysis.
• Demonstrate accountability and deliver high performance, fostering team collaboration and contributing positively to team success and growth.
• Define and enforce secure coding standards, emphasizing best practices that guarantee the quality, scalability, and security of all outputs.
• Consistently address complex challenges and devise effective solutions in daily tasks.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possess at least a Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a recognized college or university.
• Minimum of six years experience in Java application design and development.
• Deep expertise with Spring Boot, microservices architecture, and Hibernate framework.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies and container orchestration using Kubernetes.
• Understanding of domain-driven design (DDD) and software design patterns.
• Hands-on experience implementing RESTful web services and working with JSON.
• Proven experience with Elasticsearch for trend analysis and issue detection.
• Working knowledge of agile development practices and DevOps workflows, particularly Scrum methodology.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to program complex application stacks.
• Experience in creating customer-facing applications, preferably within the travel or payment sectors, is advantageous.
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight while maintaining transparent communication on progress.
• Effective communication skills essential for collaboration and documentation.
