About the Role and Company

Work Locations and Schedule

  • Positions are located across various regional areas in Australia, including WA (Merredin, Jurian Bay, Geraldton), SA (Port Augusta/Whyalla, Millicent/Mt Gambier), VIC (Warnambool, Ballarat, Sale), NSW (Canberra/Goulburn, Inverall/Glen Innes), QLD (Hughenden, Chinchilla/Dulacca, Atherton), and TAS (Musselroe, Granville Harbour).
  • This is not a FIFO (fly-in fly-out) role; candidates must reside in the respective regions.
  • Standard working hours are 8 hours per day, with on-call duties approximately once every 3-4 weeks during weekends.
  • Travel is expected, estimated at around 50 days annually.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere strictly to safety and environmental standards while achieving maintenance targets.
  • Conduct regular service inspections following Vestas’ procedures, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic system troubleshooting and replacement.
  • Ensure optimal turbine functionality through condition monitoring and remote operation tools.
  • Maintain service vehicles and warehouses efficiently by ordering necessary materials, tools, and spare parts.
  • Assemble and repair components per current standards, utilizing cranes internally or externally when required.

Required Qualifications and Competencies

  • Qualified in electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic trades, with eagerness to advance skill sets further.
  • Proficient in computer usage and familiar with tools or systems for monitoring work and documentation.
  • Good command of English, both spoken and written.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Strong commitment to maintaining high health and safety standards in the workplace.
  • Capable of climbing turbines and engaging in physically demanding work at heights and in diverse weather conditions.
  • Willingness to travel to various sites when necessary.
  • Enjoys collaborating in team environments and effectively communicating with multiple stakeholders.
  • Independent, solution-focused, and well-organized in work approach.
