About the role

The Office is hiring two Senior Investigators for the Investigation and Resolution Unit. In this position, you will handle complex and delicate administrative investigations involving Queensland public sector agencies. Cases may come from complaints, parliamentary referrals or the Ombudsman’s own-initiative actions. You will work closely with complainants and agencies, assess information thoroughly, draft clear written reasons for decisions and recommend ways to improve administrative processes and procedures.

Key responsibilities

  • Run complex and sensitive administrative investigations under the Ombudsman Act.
  • Maintain communication with complainants and agencies during the course of investigations.
  • Review information carefully, assess risk and weigh potential resolutions.
