Position Overview
Joining Walmart Canada as a Self-Checkout Attendant offers a valuable opportunity to enhance your retail and customer service skills. This role focuses on delivering outstanding customer experiences while assisting shoppers at self-service checkout points.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the self-checkout area clean, tidy, and free from unnecessary fixtures, clutter, spills, or foreign objects.
- Guide customers on the effective and proper usage of self-service checkout systems.
- Promote Walmart’s partner programs such as credit card offerings, product protection plans, and charitable initiatives where applicable.
- Monitor customers’ activities to identify when help is needed and provide timely assistance.
- Explain politely the purpose of self-service interventions and routine quality checks to reassure customers that these are standard procedures.
- Demonstrate the ability to respond to Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) alarms and accurately complete the "Failure to Deactivate" log when required.
- Notify the Customer Service Manager if the self-service area experiences low cash levels or technical difficulties.
- Return Scan & Go scanners to their designated storage location after use.
Compensation
The starting wage for this position is $18.00 per hour.

- Applicants must be at least 16 years old.
