About the Role
We are seeking driven publishing professionals to join a dynamic team supporting the peer review workflow for cutting-edge medical journals. The ideal candidates are motivated individuals who stay current with medical research trends, pay close attention to detail, excel in customer service, and work well within a team environment. As a Reviewer Selection Editor, you will oversee the peer review process utilizing platforms like Scholar One Manuscripts™ and conduct expert reviewer research via tools such as PubMed Central.
Responsibilities
- Manage the peer review workflow ensuring adherence to agreed timelines and quality standards.
- Utilize internal and external databases to identify and select qualified expert reviewers.
- Stay informed of up-to-date ethical guidelines for publication practices.
- Communicate effectively with reviewers regarding deadlines and common inquiries.
- Perform data analysis to identify areas for process enhancement and provide actionable recommendations.
- Maintain precise records and update content management systems regularly.
- Coordinate daily with editorial teams based internationally.
- Manage expectations of external stakeholders professionally.
- Deliver outstanding and empathetic customer service.
- Support departmental projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics Engineering.
- Familiarity with the journal peer review process.
- Interest in academic publishing and awareness of current market trends.
- Strong command of English grammar and spelling.
- Experience with process-driven workflows.
- Background in customer-facing roles.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills aimed at delivering excellent customer service.
- Capability to identify and suggest improvements to processes.
- Persuasive and empathetic, able to understand others' viewpoints.
- Adaptability to shifting work plans or priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Additional Information
Experience with online manuscript submission systems such as Scholar One Manuscripts™ or Editorial Manager™ is advantageous but not mandatory as comprehensive training will be provided.
