Job Context
The Regional Credit Manager will oversee the flow of BIL and PIL proposals across branches in the assigned region, making sure the process runs in a structured and efficient way.
Key Aspects
- Guide the movement of BIL and PIL proposals smoothly across all branches in the region.
- Review credit proposals carefully, carrying out thorough due diligence and ensuring every detail needed for a sound credit decision is captured.
- Maintain the agreed turnaround time for credit appraisal and work closely with the sales team so decisions are made faster and overall sanction timelines improve.
- Lead a team of Credit Analysts responsible for due diligence, proposal analysis, and recommendations for approval.
Key Challenges
- Ensure accurate and timely data is available for detailed credit appraisals, keeping in mind the different structuring needs of each proposal based on the customer, product, and regulatory requirements.
- Deliver efficient turnaround times in a fast-moving and competitive market.
- Keep credit risk and customer risk under control at all times.
- Promote smooth coordination across functions so credit proposals receive approval without delays.
- Track sticky accounts and pending documentation regularly and ensure they are brought up to date.
- Stay current on economic, industry, and sector developments, and make sure the team does the same.
