Description de l'emploi
Role overview
This opportunity is being promoted for a partner employer that oversees the application review and all subsequent hiring steps. The hiring team is seeking a Property Claims Adjuster in the United States.
The role centers on handling complex homeowner property claims in a modern, tech-enabled insurance setting while maintaining a strong customer experience.
You will manage claims end to end, from the first report through final closure, using technical claims knowledge, investigation skills, and a compassionate approach with policyholders.
This position calls for sharp attention to detail, solid judgment, and comfort using digital tools to help drive better claim results.
You will work closely with internal teams, external partners, and customers to produce accurate evaluations and equitable settlements.
The ideal candidate is flexible, customer-oriented, and able to work independently in a remote-first environment.
This is an opportunity to help shape the future of insurance operations while supporting customers through important and often stressful situations.
Key accountabilities
- Manage homeowner property claims from the first notice of loss through final settlement, including supplements and closure activities.
- Carry out thorough claim investigations by reviewing policy terms, evaluating damage, identifying liability, and spotting possible fraud or subrogation opportunities.
- Inspect properties using virtual inspection tools, AI-assisted solutions, field support, or third-party services depending on the complexity of the claim.
- Build accurate repair and damage estimates using Cotality, Xactimate, or similar estimating software based on inspection results.
- Keep claim files complete and current, including estimates, coverage correspondence, activity logs, reserves, and settlement documentation.
- Proactively update policyholders, claimants, agents, vendors, and internal stakeholders, and help resolve any issues that arise.
- Negotiate settlements professionally and fairly while balancing customer needs with company objectives.
- Partner with contractors, independent adjusters, engineers, and internal groups such as legal, underwriting, and fraud investigation.
- Share ideas that improve workflows, operational effectiveness, and claims quality.
- Assist with higher claim volumes and catastrophe response work when needed.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience handling property claims and customer service responsibilities.
- Hands-on experience creating property damage estimates in Cotality, Xactimate, or comparable estimating tools.
- Demonstrated ability to create estimates from personal inspections and claim evaluations, not just by reviewing outside reports.
- An active property and casualty adjuster license, or the ability to secure the required licenses within the required timeline.
- Experience in a remote or hybrid claims environment.
- Strong understanding of claims investigation, coverage review, estimating methods, and settlement handling.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills, plus strong negotiation and problem-solving ability.
- Good organizational habits with the ability to manage several claims and competing priorities at once.
- Comfort using technology platforms, virtual inspection tools, and digital claims systems.
- Ability to work on your own while still contributing effectively in a team setting.
- Preferred background in catastrophe claims operations, AI-assisted claims tools, professional insurance credentials, or claims technology innovation.
Compensation and benefits
The role offers a competitive salary range of USD 70,000 to 90,000, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
- Remote-first work setup with flexibility and support for distributed teams.
- Competitive compensation package with possible equity opportunities.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
- Life insurance and disability coverage options.
- Paid parental leave of up to 8 weeks, with additional leave options where applicable.
- 401(k) company contribution equal to 3% of gross income, regardless of employee contribution.
- Work-from-home stipend of USD 1,500 to help set up a productive home office.
- Annual professional development budget of USD 2,000 for learning and career growth.
- Monthly wellness allowance.
- Paid volunteer hours and employee referral rewards.
- A collaborative culture built around empathy, innovation, cooperation, and work-life balance.
Application and hiring process
Applications are handled by the partner company. An AI-supported matching process is used to review candidates against the role’s main requirements, and the strongest matches are then shared with the hiring employer. Final hiring decisions and next steps, including interviews and assessments, are managed by the employer’s internal team.
