Principal Electrical Engineer

Role Overview

Join a globally acclaimed consultancy as a Principal or Associate Electrical Engineer based in Dublin, leading electrical designs for innovative data centres and mission-critical facilities. You will be responsible for engineering robust, high-availability HV/LV power distribution systems, including UPS, generator backup solutions, and switchgear tailored for top-tier hyperscale technology enterprises.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and lead designs for highly reliable HV/LV power distribution networks, standby power systems, and uninterruptible power supplies.
• Conduct in-depth electrical engineering calculations, including fault analysis, cable sizing, and protective coordination.
• Manage and review design outputs while ensuring adherence to quality standards and collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary MEP teams.
• Engage and communicate with prominent clients and essential project participants throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• A degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or a closely related discipline.
• Extensive experience in designing electrical systems for data centres or other mission-critical power infrastructures.
• Strong proficiency in electrical design and analysis software such as ETAP, Amtech, AutoCAD, Revit, or Dialux.
• Comprehensive knowledge of electrical standards applicable in Ireland, Europe, and internationally.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) qualification preferred or active pursuit thereof.
