Role Overview

The Electrical Engineer (Commissioning Authority) for Data Centres is tasked with overseeing, planning, coordinating, and executing Level 2 to Level 5 commissioning operations on designated systems or zones. The role emphasizes maintaining technical compliance, assuring quality standards, and preparing systems for formal acceptance. Balancing hands-on technical execution, thorough documentation, and effective stakeholder communication is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Level 2 (Installation Verification): Lead efforts to verify installation readiness, review and approve installation checklists, Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), and Method Statements, ensuring installations satisfy commissioning entry criteria.
• Level 3 (Individual Element Commissioning): Organize and observe commissioning of individual plant and equipment components, verify correct operations, settings, controls, and protection mechanisms, ensuring system stability prior to system-level testing.
• Level 4 (System Functional Testing): Coordinate and witness system functional tests, validate operation sequences and system responsiveness, and ensure alignment with design specifications and operational needs.
• Level 5 (Integrated Systems Testing): Support integrated system testing activities by validating system resilience and recovery, assist in client demonstrations, and facilitate acceptance procedures.
• Authority & Decision-Making: Empowered to approve progression between commissioning stages within the assigned scope, recommend acceptance or rejection of test outcomes.

Technical Skills and Experience

• Minimum of 5 to 8 years' commissioning experience within mission-critical or complex facility environments.
• Proven background in Data Centre or critical infrastructure commissioning is mandatory.
• Strong capabilities in technical documentation and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.

• Promptness in addressing and resolving issues.
• Quality and completeness in documentation delivery.
