Role Overview
Our client, a well-established organisation undergoing a significant transformation in its payroll operations, is seeking a skilled Payroll Officer. The role involves full ownership of end-to-end payroll processing within a supportive, cooperative team known for its strong culture and long employee tenure.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage comprehensive payroll processing from start to finish
- Ensure payroll compliance, perform reconciliations, and prepare necessary reports
- Interpret relevant payroll legislation and employment terms accurately
- Address and resolve employee payroll inquiries efficiently
- Engage with stakeholders across various business units
- Assist with initiatives aimed at improving payroll processes
Qualifications and Requirements
- Demonstrated experience handling complete payroll processing
- In-depth knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, tax requirements, and superannuation
- Ability to interpret awards, agreements, or complex pay conditions
- Understanding of Payday Super compliance and payroll regulatory obligations
- Capability to prioritize competing tasks and operate independently
- Experience in managing payroll within multi-site or complex workforce environments is highly beneficial
