Position Summary

This role oversees the daily operations of Clinical and Faculty Affairs at Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar, including managing faculty appointments, promotions, renewals, and terminations, as well as handling medical licensing and hospital privileges for faculty members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the daily functions of the Clinical and Faculty Affairs team ensuring seamless execution of tasks.
  • Manage timely appointments, reappointments, promotions, and terminations of WCM-Q and affiliated faculty members.
  • Contribute to annual planning activities such as budgeting, salary benchmarking, and organizing faculty-related events.
  • Collaborate with Weill Cornell Medicine-New York to stay current with appointment and promotion standards and disseminate relevant updates.
  • Supervise the drafting, review, and quality control of academic contracts and appointment letters ensuring compliance with institutional policies.
  • Develop documentation and improve workflows related to faculty and clinical affairs processes.
  • Implement policies adhering to guidelines set by WCM New York.
  • Apply knowledge of international medical education systems to assess faculty qualifications.
  • Ensure compliance with academic, institutional, and licensing regulations during appointment and promotion procedures.
  • Oversee clinical affairs operations, including medical licensure and privileging processes in affiliated hospitals, monitoring related legal and policy changes.
  • Facilitate the Internal Review Committee process by preparing documentation and monitoring progress to ensure timely faculty case reviews.
  • Prepare recommendation letters for faculty appointments and promotions in coordination with department chairs.
  • Work closely with affiliated hospitals, WCM-Q office, academic departments, and faculty affairs office on various initiatives and projects.
  • Manage all faculty medical licensing requirements within Qatar.
  • Support educational activities such as promotion seminars and workshops, including preparation of CPD accreditation applications.
  • Assist in handling faculty grievances following the Academic Staff Handbook procedures.
  • Oversee system-related issues and contribute to maintaining and updating web and intranet content.
  • Participate in the design and development of new systems relevant to clinical and faculty affairs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent field.
  • Minimum 9 to 10 years of relevant experience managing faculty and clinical affairs within an academic healthcare environment.
  • Certification as a Certified Professional Medical Services Manager (CPMSM) is preferred.

  • Comprehensive understanding of medical education, clinical care, and research sectors.
