Role Responsibilities

  • Designing, specifying, and selecting instrumentation equipment responsibly.
  • Creating Control & Electrical (C&E) diagrams, Control Narratives, and Vessel sketches.
  • Reviewing and annotating Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Participating in HAZOP and SIL studies and resolving instrumentation-related action items.
  • Preparing purchase inquiry requisitions and technical tabulations.
  • Engaging with vendors through meetings and correspondence to clarify technical queries.
  • Compiling vendor selection reports essential for awarding technical bids.
  • Overseeing requisition purchases and approving vendor-submitted information pertaining to instrumentation and other disciplines.
  • Supporting construction and commissioning phases on-site as required, based on departmental management decisions.
  • Ensuring purchase orders fulfill targets related to technical details, budgeted man-hours, quality standards, procedures compliance, planning, and 3D model/isometric checks.
  • Coordinating information exchange between multiple disciplines including piping, electrical, mechanical, vessels, civil, construction, process, purchasing, and inspection.
  • Monitoring and managing purchase orders and design deliverables to meet project schedules.
  • Implementing lessons learned and logging design changes affecting requisitions.
  • Maintaining up-to-date electronic document filing systems and holds lists per project procedures.
  • Reporting issues affecting teamwork and facilitating timely corrective actions.
  • Proper utilization of work tools in accordance with standards.

Candidate Requirements

  • Possession of MMUP/UPDA First Category Engineer registration.
  • 12 to 15 years of pertinent engineering experience with significant exposure to Qatar and GCC projects.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an engineering discipline relevant to instrumentation.
  • Robust experience managing engineering and project tasks.
  • Preferably, prior involvement in major Qatar-based engineering projects.
  • Familiarity with Qatar's engineering standards, regulations, and project expectations.
  • Effective communication, coordination, and technical capabilities.
