Position Overview
The Information Technology Specialist will play a vital role on our IT team, managing critical systems and services that support Fidus. This position involves frontline IT support combined with responsibilities for Azure, security, and AI enablement. The successful candidate will share helpdesk management duties, aid organizational AI tool adoption, and apply security best practices across systems including endpoint and cloud infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Work onsite in the Kanata office four days per week.
- Collaborate with the IT team to oversee helpdesk operations, ensuring timely and professional resolution of support tickets while prioritizing and closing them with excellent customer service.
- Lead company-wide AI enablement including rollout, adoption assistance, agentic enablement, and ensuring safe and compliant use of AI tools.
- Manage and maintain our Azure and Microsoft 365 environments, including Entra ID, Intune, Defender, Purview, Sentinel, Exchange Online, and related services.
- Assist with IT onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Provide hands-on software and hardware support to end users.
- Manage hardware provisioning, including Autopilot deployments and asset tracking.
- Maintain operating systems including Windows, Office 365, Linux distributions (Ubuntu, Red Hat), and provide some Mac support.
- Drive identity system integrations focused on implementing SSO, SCIM, and automated access control lists for just-in-time project permissions.
- Implement security best practices across identity management, endpoints, and cloud environments while supporting compliance and cybersecurity requirements.
- Create and update documentation for IT processes, configurations, and security training.
- Utilize AI technologies to increase efficiency and improve work quality.
Candidate Profile
- Possess 5 to 7 years of relevant IT experience, preferably in mid-sized companies (50-250 employees).
- Hold post-secondary education in computer-related fields or equivalent professional experience.
- Demonstrate strong expertise in administering Azure and Microsoft 365 platforms.
- Have experience in organizational AI rollout and responsible use practices.
- Possess solid understanding of security principles and compliance frameworks.
- Be proficient in Linux system management and command-line tools (Ubuntu, Red Hat).
- Be familiar with IT support ticketing systems.
- Have experience in IT hardware provisioning and deployment.
- Show excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Fluency in spoken and written English is essential.
- Exhibit strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Be highly organized with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and pay attention to detail.
- Capable of documenting processes and incident responses thoroughly.
- Self-driven individual who can work independently and collaboratively.
- Willingness to occasionally work evenings or weekends for critical maintenance or upgrades.
- Ability to obtain security clearance for Canadian and US government contract work; existing clearance is advantageous.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary ranges from 90000 to 110000 annually, with final offers based on experience, skills, and market conditions considering internal equity.
