Job Overview
Our client is looking for a Human Resources Assistant to provide support in employee services and overall HR operations within a dynamic and fast-moving environment. This role acts as a primary contact for HR inquiries and delivers excellent customer service while assisting with employee lifecycle activities such as onboarding, offboarding, benefits management, employment verification, and supporting HR systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond professionally and accurately to employee and HR queries ensuring high-quality customer service
- Support employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, offboarding, and updating personnel records
- Manage and update HR data using HR systems and case management tools
- Handle employment verification and unemployment-related inquiries
- Assist with benefits administration and wellness program activities
- Coordinate background checks, drug testing, and I-9 employment eligibility verification
- Maintain HR documentation, forms, and records compliant with company policies
- Properly escalate complex employee concerns and stay involved until resolution
- Prepare reports, correspondence, and provide administrative support to the HR team
- Ensure adherence to company service standards, policies, and SLAs
Required Qualifications
- Between 0 to 4+ years of experience in administration, customer service, HR, or related fields with strong communication and customer care skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and HR-related systems
- Capable of working across multiple systems accurately
Preferred Experience
- Prior work in HR, employee services, or HR operations
- Familiarity with HRIS, case management, payroll, and benefits platforms
- Knowledge of onboarding/offboarding and HR compliance processes
- Experience supporting employee relations or shared HR services
- Understanding unemployment claims documentation and benefits programs
Work Environment
- Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
- Onsite work arrangement
- Initial contract duration: 6 to 12 months
Compensation and Benefits
- Estimated pay range: $16 to $17 per hour (subject to experience, skill, and local wage laws)
