Overview
This role is offered through a partner company seeking a Helpdesk System Administrator located in the United Kingdom. The position involves supporting a dynamic international tech organization in maintaining efficient team operations, devices, and digital tools. It provides hands-on IT operations experience with a chance to enhance system administration capabilities within a fully remote setup managing a diverse technological environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of corporate hardware, including procurement, configuration, inventory control, and coordinating international shipments.
- Administer and configure company devices, primarily in macOS environments utilizing Apple Business Manager and mobile device management (MDM) software.
- Manage employee onboarding and offboarding procedures by handling accounts, access permissions, and equipment distribution.
- Deliver daily helpdesk support in English and Ukrainian, resolving technical challenges faced by staff.
- Handle subscriptions, renewals, access rights, invoices, and administrative tasks for various business applications and digital tools.
- Conduct access audits and assist with fundamental security measures such as enhancing access controls, phishing prevention, and employee security awareness campaigns.
- Maintain thorough documentation, update knowledge bases, and continuously optimize IT operational procedures.
- Collaborate extensively with internal teams and external vendors to ensure seamless technology operations across the company.
Candidate Requirements
- Practical experience in IT support, helpdesk roles, system administration, or related technical positions.
- Strong knowledge and enthusiasm for the Apple ecosystem, notably macOS, with a desire to acquire advanced expertise.
- Fundamental understanding of networking concepts, including OSI model, protocols, troubleshooting, and basic security principles.
- Methodical problem-solving skills for diagnosing technical issues and communicating solutions effectively to users.
- Excellent organization and ability to independently prioritize and manage daily responsibilities.
- English language proficiency at intermediate levels (B1-B2), competent in communication with an international workforce and suppliers.
- Customer-focused attitude with robust communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with MDM tools, Apple Business Manager, ticketing systems, or IT service management solutions is advantageous.
- Basic automation skills using platforms like Zapier, Make, JavaScript, or Bash are considered a plus.
