About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Fire Alarm Technician to oversee the servicing of fire protection systems at sites throughout Wellington and nearby areas. This role involves working within a team to ensure the installation, maintenance, and repair of various fire alarm systems meet high standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform installation, maintenance, and repair tasks on fire alarm systems including Pertonic, Tyco, Ampac, and Notifier brands.
- Carry out routine testing on fire alarm and sprinkler systems per contract requirements.
- Ensure all work complies with project specifications, schedules, and company quality systems.
- Provide support to colleagues and subcontractors as needed.
- Communicate effectively with clients or their representatives to resolve maintenance issues.
- Prepare quotations or estimates for installation, maintenance, or related services on request.
- Commission fire protection systems following installation or maintenance.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Holds relevant trade qualifications or possesses at least three years of field experience within the fire safety industry.
- Strong client relationship-building skills.
- Ability to identify and suggest cost-effective fire protection solutions.
- Availability for rotating on-call duties and potential after-hours work.
- Excellent communication skills to interact clearly with clients and team members.
- Current full New Zealand driver’s license.
- Comprehensive knowledge of New Zealand Standards applicable to fixed system fire protection equipment.
