About the Role
Join a fast-expanding team focused on delivering advanced smart monitoring solutions across New Zealand. This full-time position based in Tauranga offers an exciting mix of workshop and fieldwork, engaging with geotechnical, environmental, and infrastructure monitoring projects nationwide. The role involves bench testing, configuring, installing, and commissioning IoT monitoring equipment, often requiring travel to remote sites, including access by helicopter and hiking.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct bench testing and configure equipment prior to deployment, ensuring devices are fully operational from the start.
- Install and commission IoT monitoring and field instrumentation hardware across various sites.
- Diagnose and resolve technical problems encountered during installations and field operations.
- Perform maintenance and service tasks on existing monitoring systems to ensure reliable performance.
- Integrate equipment with the company's telemetry platform for seamless data collection.
- Operate safely and professionally across diverse construction, environmental, and infrastructure locations.
- Deliver high-quality workmanship while adapting to varying site conditions.
Candidate Profile
- Practical, dependable individual comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Experience in field technician roles or related electrical, instrumentation, or communications fields is preferred.
- Possession of a full New Zealand Driver Licence is mandatory.
- Strong awareness of health and safety along with confidence working outdoors in different environments.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities both in workshop and field situations.
- Effective communicator who builds constructive relationships with clients and team members.
- Technologically savvy with confidence using computers and software platforms.
- Ability to manage time effectively and work autonomously.
- Willingness to undertake travel requirements and operate in physically demanding locations.
Additional Advantageous Experience
- Background with IoT hardware, sensors, telemetry, or data logging technologies.
- Familiarity with geotechnical, environmental, or civil infrastructure monitoring is a plus.
- Qualification or experience in IoT, electronics, instrumentation, or related technical disciplines.
