Job Summary

This position involves performing servicing and repair tasks on customer equipment within a specified territory remotely from a branch office. The primary focus is on elevated work platforms and telehandlers, ensuring machines are repaired on-site where possible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough inspections, maintenance, and repairs on elevating work platforms, telehandlers, and lighting towers.
  • Prioritize on-site repairs to avoid transporting equipment off-site.
  • Travel as required, including overnight stays.
  • Complete all necessary documentation and inspection forms following JLG policies, relevant Australian and New Zealand standards, and customer/site requirements.
  • Notify the field service coordinator promptly when repairs or services cannot be completed during visits, including reasons for delays.
  • Conduct customer visits aimed at generating new business opportunities in coordination with the Field Service Coordinator, reporting outcomes to the Branch Manager.
  • Work with technical support teams and interpret equipment manuals as needed.
  • Carry out van audits and stock inventory checks.
  • Handle general administrative tasks such as entering detailed job notes.
  • Identify and generate service and sales leads, collaborating closely with the sales and service teams.
  • Maintain target retail labor utilization rates.
  • Perform any additional duties assigned by the Branch Manager.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills

  • Possession of a trade qualification in elevating work platform technology, heavy vehicle, diesel mechanics, automotive, auto electrical, or related discipline.
  • Experience in a similar technical position, with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical skills being highly beneficial.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with both internal teams and external customers.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Proficiency in language, literacy, and numeracy skills, including writing job notes, reading safety information, equipment manuals, and signage, and managing parts numbers and quantities.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
