Description de l'emploi

About the Company

SpaceX was built on the idea that a future in which people expand beyond Earth and explore space is far more compelling than one where we remain grounded. The company continues to develop the technologies needed to make that vision real, with the long-term aim of supporting human life on Mars.

Role Overview

The Facilities Specialist for Starship supports facility operations and vendor management across the campus. This role works closely with facilities leadership, purchasing, contractors, and internal stakeholders to help keep projects moving, services running smoothly, and records accurate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Facilities Manager(s) with day-to-day project execution and implementation activities.
  • Participate in meetings and presentations involving executive leadership.
  • Prepare campus-wide reporting on spend, service tickets, and other requested operational metrics.
  • Manage contracts for facility-related services including elevators, cranes, waste handling, recycling, pest control, landscaping, and other repair vendors.
  • Collect and compare multiple bids from competing contractors.
  • Conduct job walk-downs alongside vendors, engineers, supervisors, and managers.
  • Coordinate with purchasing to confirm vendors are approved, screened, and properly insured.
  • Assist with badging, ITAR, NDA compliance, and safety training requirements.
  • Draft RFPOs and support buyers in selecting vendors.
  • Verify that purchase orders are accurate and prevent cost overruns.

Required Background

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in facility vendor and contract management is required.

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Prior work supporting facilities in the aerospace sector is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with space planning processes and day-to-day facility operations is helpful.
  • Comfort using computer systems and navigating a range of software tools.
  • Ability to create and maintain RFPOs and facilities work orders in an ERP platform.
  • Strong team collaboration skills.
  • Capability to make sound decisions with limited information.
  • Clear verbal and written communication for sharing data with employees, vendors, and customers.
  • Practical, strategic problem-solving approach.
  • Ability to interpret basic floor plans.
  • Comfort working in a demanding environment with multiple simultaneous priorities and sudden changes in direction.

Working Conditions and Additional Requirements

The schedule depends on site operational needs, and extended hours or weekend work may be required. The role also involves exposure to harsh outdoor conditions such as heat, cold, and rain, as well as fumes, odors, and noise.

ITAR / Export Control Requirements

Because of U.S. government export regulations, applicants must be one of the following: a U.S. citizen or national, a U.S. lawful permanent resident (green card holder), a refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or an asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158, or otherwise eligible to obtain the necessary authorization from the U.S. Department of State.

Equal Opportunity and Accommodation

SpaceX is an equal opportunity employer. Hiring decisions are made based on merit, competence, and qualifications and are not influenced by race, color, religion, gender, national origin or ethnicity, veteran status, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, physical or mental disability, or any other protected status. Applicants who want to review the company’s Affirmative Action Plan for veterans and individuals with disabilities, or who need a reasonable accommodation during the application or interview process, can contact EEOCompliance@spacex.com.
