Director of Software Engineering

About the Company

Our client is a rapidly growing, venture-funded pioneer in cybersecurity, developing sovereign AI platforms and specialized hardware appliances that safeguard critical global infrastructure and operational technology (OT) settings.

Role Overview

This is a founding-level leadership position within the engineering organization, where you will be responsible for the full scope of architecture, delivery, quality assurance, and team expansion efforts. The role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and is based in Dubai or Bangalore with remote work flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Set and steer the technical vision for AI platform and hardware appliance product lines, implementing disciplined release schedules, effective version control, and strict separation between user acceptance testing and production.
• Manage the data workflow supporting passive monitoring, industrial protocol parsing (such as Modbus, S7Comm, IEC 60870-5-104), alongside mapping to the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
• Guide the enhancement of appliance security through hardening techniques, TPM-enabled device identity, full disk encryption, and tools to accelerate compliance with standards like IEC 62443 and ISO 27001.
• Lead and rapidly expand a high-achieving, globally distributed engineering team.

Qualifications and Experience

• 10 to 15+ years of proven engineering leadership, including responsibility for delivery and organizational growth beyond technical architecture.
• Solid experience in OT/ICS security or a strong enterprise detection/security background (examples include firms like CrowdStrike, Palo Alto Networks, SentinelOne) with deep knowledge of industrial protocols.
• Aptitude for thriving in a lean, fast-moving environment where influence is direct and responsibilities are wide-ranging.

Highly Desirable Skills

• Practical experience with applied artificial intelligence or local GPU inference under resource constraints.
• Background in Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), detection engineering, or Security Operations Center (SOC) tooling.
• Understanding of sovereign deployment challenges or experience within critical infrastructure sectors.

Compensation and Reporting

Competitive base salary plus equity participation. This leadership opportunity reports to the CEO.
